# SEGA identifiers.
This file describes the various identifiers and their formats that are used in products by SEGA.
## Part number
A generic identifier for a physical part. Seems to have been introduced by Gremlin Industries and continued by SEGA upon acquisition way back in 1978.
Format: `[0-9]{3}-[0-9A-Z]+`. The first part indicates the part category, the second part the identifier.

Format: `S[BD][A-Z]{2}`. `SC**` may be developer IDs?
