# `GU956`: Mobile bookkeeping unit [Pictures available [here](https://github.com/Shizmob/arcade-docs-media/tree/main/konami/GQ976/GU956)] ## Overview A dedicated box with a Konami logo, an 2x16 segment LCD display, and "SET" and "MENU" buttons on the front, and power input, cab wiring, and a Konami label on the back. The label says: | | | | |----------------|-----------------|---------------------------------| | model | GU956 | | | 定格電圧 | DC12V | (rated input voltage) | | 定格消費電流 | 1200mA | (rated input peak current) | | 外部供給電圧 | DC5V | (output voltage) | | 外部供給可能電流 | 500mA | (output peak current) | | 重量 | 1.2kg | (weight) | | 製造番号 | GU9563 00560 | (serial number) | | 接続電話番号 | 090-8306-6918 | (phone number) | | 登録IP | 128.191.0.057 | (IP address) | | 販売元 | コナミ株式会社 | (distributor: Konami Co., Ltd.) | Hooks up to via a serial DE-9 connector to an [NTT DoComo DoPa Mobile Ark 9601P](https://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/binary/pdf/corporate/technology/rd/technical_journal/bn/vol7_3/vol7_3_019jp.pdf), a cellular modem for [DoPa](https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/DoPa) over [PDC](https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDC): a Japanese 2G standard. The power input is directly split from the cabinet's AC inlet through a standard 12V power supply, and through an additional connector (CN2 on the sub board) it sits in between the AC inlet and the rest of the cabinet internals, before even the net filter. It would seem that this gives it the possibility to deny AC input to the cabinet. It powers the NTT modem directly. When turned on, the screen displays the selected period and the selected counter name and value, e.g. "This Month" "00/11 PT0=000000". The available periods are: - This Month - Last Month - Before Last The available counters are "PT0", "PT1", ..., "PT9". Pressing "Set" repeatedly cycles through the counters, while pressing "Menu" switches it into a different screen: a menu displaying what it believes to be the current date and time, and the current period, e.g. "00/01/01 00:01" "Before Last". Pressing "Set" repeatedly cycles through the periods, and pressing "Menu" returns to the first screen with the selected period. It is spliced into the cabinet's main wiring harness through a harness from CN3 and CN4 on the main board, seemingly connecting up to 16 cables. This harness is presumably hooked up to at least the coin, service button and test button signals. It was found spliced into 6 cables, presumably at least the coin, service button, and test button signals. ## Purpose ## Schematics ``` 00201-01B: MAIN ,----[CN7]-[CN6]---[CN5]--[ CN4 ]--[ CN3 ]--[ CN2 ]---, | | | U2 U1 U16 U17 | | BAT1 | | U25 U26 U27 U4 U24 U14 | | U21 U22 | | U20 U7 U15 U16 | | X2 U6 | | U19 U11 U10 X1 U3 | | U8 SW3 | | U13 U12 U9 U5 | | [ CN1 ] [ CN8 ] | `--------------------------------------, | `------------[SW2]---[SW1]-----' ``` * Parts: * U1: NEC μPC177G * U2: NEC μPC177G * U3: ST 74AC14 * U4: Mitsumi PST600C * U5: ST 74AC393 * U6: Hitachi HD6413007F20 (QFP100, H8/3007) * U7: Fujitsu 29F040C-70 (PLCC32, label "インカム 0000015") * U8: ST 74AC74 * U9: ST 74AC74 * U10: ST 74AC374 * U11: ST 74HC374 * U12: Toshiba TC7S32F * U13: TI SN74HC541 * U14: LSI S7600A * U15: ST LVX4245 * U16: Mitsumi PST600C * U17: Sipex SP3243ECA * U18: [not found] * U19: OKI M6242B * U20: Toshiba TC55257DFL-70L * U21: Toshiba TC7S00F * U22: Toshiba TC7S00F * U23: [not found] * U24: NEC μPC29M33 * U25: Shindengen HRD051R5 * U26: ABLIC S-80818 * U27: ABLIC S-80822 * X1: 200KD9M (20 MHz crystal) * X2: (32.768 kHz crystal) * SW1: push switch, "MENU" * SW2: push switch, "SET" * SW3: 4-switch dipswitch * Connectors: * CN1: ribbon16, to LED board * CN2: JST-PA10, through left hole, to DE9 on NTT DoComo DoPa Mobile Ark 9601P (PDC/DoPa modem) * CN3: JST-PA8, through left hole, spliced into wiring harness * CN4: JST-PA8, through left hole, spliced into wiring harness * CN5: JST-PA3, through right hole, to (unknown plug type) on NTT DoComo DoPa Mobile Ark 9601P, pinout left-right: +5V NC GND * CN6: JST-PA2, internally, to JST-PA2 (SUB)CN3, pinout left-right: +12V GND * CN7: barrel jack, external label "DC12V", to 12V power supply * CN8: unk50, to sub board ``` 00201-02A: SUB ,-----------------------------------------, | [CN3] [ CN2 ] | | [ CN1 ] U1 U2 | `-----------------------------------------' ``` * Parts: * U1: * U2: Toshiba TC7S32F * Connectors: * CN1: unk50, to main board through bottom * CN2: JST-??4, through right hole, to 2x spade terminals on AC inlet, pinout left-right: L NC N NC * CN3: JST-PA2, see (MAIN)CN6 ``` WM-C1602M-1TNNf: LED ```
