# Getting Started with DMX via Stream Panel with VRSL!
This guide will get you started working with DMX mode in VRSL.
### ATTENTION: THIS MODE REQUIRES THE VRSL GRID NODE TO WORK PROPERLY. YOU CAN GET THE GRID NODE [HERE.](acchosen.gumroad.com/l/xYaPu)
## Prerequisites
If you haven't already, please go ahead and follow the [Setup](https://github.com/AcChosen/VR-Stage-Lighting/wiki/Getting-Started:-Setup) tutorial until you have your project set up similar to how it is below:

## Initial Setup
To begin, we're going to spawn some example surfaces so we have something for our lights to project on. Here, we went ahead and dragged the inverted cube prefab into the scene.

That should give our lights something to project on to!
## Spawning prefabs
Now we need some lights to control!
To do that, we can use the VRSL Control panel. First, click this tab to open the options menu:

The menu should now look something like this:

Afterward, you'll want to click the `Show DMX Prefab Spawn Butttons` drop-down button.

The menu should now look something like this:

Now we have all the buttons we'll need to spawn the prefabs we need.
